The Stone Barge
My Process
I start by drawing out the composition of the landscape;
then begin placing elements and objects in the right places,
After it’s drawn out, then I start applying the color
making sure to get the right perspective,
proportions and the scale on the canvas,
then begin coloring in the details of the painting with the shadows and highlights.
Filling in the shadows and darker areas in the first layer
Then applying the lighter colors on top according to the light and reflections,
then ending with the finishing touches.
Here is short reel highlighting the process of making the painting of The View From Lighthouse Point at San Lorenzo.
DEDICATION
In loving memory of my Mom Barbara 1932-1996 who will always and forever be in my heart. My Mom was always very creative, and she influenced me in having a love of art at an early age.
She encouraged and supported me in finding my creative and artistic side. I think she would be so thrilled with me starting my art website and naming it in her honor.
